Microsoft announces new online game

Posted Tuesday, January 27, 2004
Microsoft, the creators of many games - including Age Of Empires, Rise Of Nations, Age Of Mythology, and of course Microsoft Flight Simulator has announced a new title to be released soon: Minesweeper Online!
"We wanted to get back to the basics of gameplay," said Microsoft Games president Saul E. Teyr. "In the original Minesweeper, players spent countless heart-pumping hours clicking on nondescript squares trying to logically identify where the mines were hidden. It's that same intensity that we're looking to recreate in the online version, except that we wanted to make this a multiplayer experience. Multiplayer is where it's at."

A journey to the middle of the earth!

No, seriously. The explorer Steve Currey plans to take tourists to the arctic - to try and find a legendary hole that leads to the inside of our earth.
Don't miss this chance to personally visit that paradise within our earth via the North Polar Opening and meet the highly advanced, friendly people who live there. We are of the opinion that they are the lengendary Lost Tribes of Israel who migrated into the North Country over 2,500 years ago and literally became lost to the knowledge of mankind.
Pretending this "Hollow Earth" theory is actually true, how exactly - when travelling in a russian nuclear icebreaker - does Currey plan to enter (and what's more, exit from) this massive hole in the earth? And what makes him think that this hole would be a paradise? Spending time in a huge hole with no sunshine and no circulating air sure sounds like a dream holiday to me... While we're on the subject of completely credible ideas, let's go one step further: Top 10 Impossible Inventions That Actually Work. Uh huh, sure...

How You Can Prevent Internet Electrocution - A guide from the helpful folks at The Toque.
Are you teaching your children about the dangers of the Internet? What steps are you taking to ensure your family is safe? It is important to be aware of the risks because the threat of Internet electrocution is more probable than you realize. What most people don't realize is that the Internet runs on electricity. Every time a web page is sent to your computer, it uses several kilobytes of power. Just as we all know not to stick a fork into an electrical outlet, the same precautions should be applied when using the Internet. [read entire article here]

Drum machine

Check out this Drum machine flash movie, it's well worth it. Evidently it was made by the man behind Tokyo Plastic, and a damn fine piece of work it is...

Scintillating viewing, I'm sure...

Looking at the television guide for daytime programs is usually pretty boring, but every now and then you see a show that makes you sit up and think "dear lord, somebody actually made that???". Today is one of those days. Make sure you all set your VCR's so that you won't miss today's movie: THE BOY WITH GREEN HAIR. That's right, his hair is GREEN! can you imagine that!? But seriously, although the title may seem strange, the description of the movie is quite encouraging: "A war orphan awakens one day to find his hair has turned green! He learns to use his odd appearance as an anti-war statement." Ok, well maybe not :|
